Dear Parents,

The current website has been updated to accommodate your student(s) learning needs.  I have included files with reading and writing materials and website links.  Please note that these are resource activities available to you during this transition period.  If you have any questions, I can be reached by email during normal school hours at oresmx@pwcs.edu.

I will communicate with students via Microsoft Teams, school messenger and Zoom.  Here is the link to set up your Zoom account.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7xXZxRDFUU

I have posted, in files below, a daily schedule for middle school students from Khan Academy to assist parents in setting up a routine.  Please be safe, love and appreciate each other, and wash your hands!!!

The course of study for Language Arts (English 8) in Prince William County reinforces, develops, and challenges the reading, writing, communication, research and critical thinking skills of our students. In addition, since language skills are critical to all learning, it addresses skills that are necessary in all content areas.

Quarterly Focus: Beginning with the first quarter and continuing throughout the year, students will learn increasingly complex and sophisticated elements of reading, vocabulary study, writing, communication, and research. Objectives are shown below in the quarter in which mastery is expected. Mastery of the objectives will be tested through a benchmark assessment.

Study Skills is a course in which students develop and strengthen their academic and organizational skills. Students explore individual strengths and areas of need, and learn strategies for success in their academic courses. This class is designed as an opportunity to accommodate students who may need extra help reading decoding, reading comprehension and written expression.
